Manuela Rivadulla and Roxana working together in THE ZUR leather studio

Our story

A story shaped across generations.

THE ZUR was founded in 2021 by Manuela Rivadulla, an Argentine stylist based in London, and her mother, Roxana.

Long before the brand, leather was already part of their family. Roxana grew up within the furniture business established by Manuela’s grandfather, surrounded by leather, craftsmanship and the making of leather sofas.

Three generations.
One material.
A new form.

Two generations

One shared language.

For Roxana, leather is knowledge built over a lifetime. For Manuela, it is a material through which to explore form, proportion and character. Their collaboration brings together experience and instinct, tradition and contemporary design.

The material

From furniture to form.

The family’s history with leather began with objects made to be lived with. That understanding of how a material holds structure, ages and acquires character now informs every THE ZUR piece.

Designed in London and handcrafted in Buenos Aires, each bag connects contemporary design with the knowledge of traditional leather craftsmanship.

The name

A sense of the South.

THE ZUR is a play on Zona Sur. For Manuela and Roxana, the South carries personal and cultural references: Victoria Ocampo and Revista Sur, Jorge Luis Borges’s El Sur, and Charly García’s El Karma de Vivir al Sur, a song connected to Manuela’s childhood.

The name holds these worlds together: family and culture, London and Buenos Aires, memory and contemporary design.
